Strawberry Ginger Smoothie

What you need:
  • 1 banana
  • 1/4" ginger, peeled
  • 1  cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 serving Vega Shake & Go Smoothie, Tropical
  • 5 ice cubes (or to desired thickness)
  • 1 fresh strawberry
Directions:
Combine the ingredients above into your blender until smooth and creamy. If you’ve ever noticed that strawberries are heart-shaped, try slicing one vertically to further reveal its romantic shape and voila—you have the perfect garnish for this smoothie in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

This post is short, but sweet, and filled with love!

I have exciting news to share and when I get second to sit down I'll let you know all about it!

Love you,

Cody

The Spread

Hey there, sorry this is a little late...
here are the rest of the recipes I'm making today.
Food has sounded so gross to me for the past two days
that I don't even want to think about eating.
Hopefully, today will be a new day!

Paradise Island Black Bean Burgers by Tosca Reno
1C black beans rinsed, drained and mashed
1 C cooked brown rice
1 clove garlic, passed through a garlic press
2 TB leeks, finely chopped
2 TB cooked and mashed sweet potato or pumpkin
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. sea salt
1 TB EVOO
4 Ezekial buns, toasted

Mix all ingredients except olive oil and buns in a large bowl. Coat clean hands with olive oil to mix. Divide mixture into equal fourths. Shape into patties. Heat grill pan over medium flame and coat lightly with oil. Add patties and cook for 5 minutes per side or until the patties are golden and crispy.
Serve on toasted burger buns, and dress with your favorite toppings!

No Bake, No Bakes by Melissa Chappel
4 C rolled oatmeal
1/2 C almond butter
1/2 c coconut oil
1 T vanilla
6 T cocoa powder
3/4 C agave
3/4 tsp sea salt

Mix by hand in a bowl. Drop by spoonfuls on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Put in freezer until hardened. Eat and Enjoy!

I'm thinking I'll add one more appetizer to the spread.
I bought some brown rice tortilla's
that I'm planning to cut up into triangles to
make into homemade tortilla chips.

Just cut the tortilla into triangles, coat with a little olive oil and sprinkle with a little Herbamore.
Pop them into the oven set at 350 degree's and watch them close.
It usually takes about 12-15 minutes to get my favorite crispness.

I'll be serving them with my Mom's Famous Guacamole.
(It's really simple, but for some reason when she makes it, it turns out amazing!)

4 avocado's
the juice of 1 fresh lemon
1 tsp. lemon garlic salt

I'll also be serving to drink

Sassy Water

fill a pitcher full of pure water
overnight let the following brew in it:

1 lemon sliced
2 inch knob of ginger, sliced
1 cucumber sliced
12 mint leaves

Refreshing and entertaining to your tastebuds.

Hope your team wins!
